Productivity analysis in the mining of thin Coal Seams

Both classical and mechanized production methods are applied in thin coal seams. Since both of them the unit input and output prices and quantities are different, results of analysis productivity will be different, too. Zonguldak Hard Coal Basin is a quite rich region in terms of thin coal seams reserves. These reserves are usually recovered by conventional production methods. The method which is called calculation and analysis of total productivity and profitability is used in measuring efficiency of conventional method. In basin, in some panels which have thin coal seams will be changed to mechanized method in order to increase efficiency. Therefore, in the line of data taken from application field, production unit costs and total factor productivity values of face end of conventional and mechanized methods are calculated.
