Abstract (EN)

Groin hernia is one of the most common disease in society and througout history has been described many repair techniques. Today we have been adopted as standard under tension free repairs are ongoing pain issues in the post operative period. İn our study, we randomly selected 25 patients progrip self fixating mesh with the other 25 patients using suture fixation with prolen mesh. Patients with VAS( Visual Analog Scale) pain monitored with face to face or telephone interviews for two months and at the end of second month of the SF 36 ( Short Form -36) quality of life scale return to routine daily activities were evaluated. As a result of assesment made post operative as early pro grip self fixating mesh used less of patients in pain score and was statistically significant difference , but at the end of second month of each method has been found to give similar results in pain score and quality of life. Although the results are different from each other publications in the literature indicating that pro grip self fixating mesh in favor of the positive obtained are available. As a result larger case series with longer follow –up needs to be done.
