Abstract (EN)
There are numerous volcanic plugs/necks in the form of steep-sided conical hills within the Neogene lava dome in the Inlice region (W-SW of Konya). The study aims to determine and interpret the mineralogical, petrographical, geochemical and geochronological ((U/Th)-He) characteristics of these volcanic plugs/necks in the region. The petrographical studies show that the samples are composed mainly of plagioclase (38-48%), biotite (12-24%), amphibole (5-11%) and pyroxene (7-11%) crystals in a holocrystalline porphyric structure. The results of geochemical analyses show that the samples have a highly homogeneous chemical composition; the SiO2 varies between 62.38-62.97%, MgO between 1.84-2.37%, CaO between 4.49-4.71%, Co between 9.5-10.4 ppm, Ni between 4.8-8.1 ppm, Sr between 551-620 ppm, and Zr between 159.9-190.1 ppm in the samples, and that the samples are andesite/basaltic andesite in composition. Geochronological studies show that the crystallization age of the apatite crystals in the samples from Bayraklı and Memlik localities are ~7.81 my (±0.7 my) and ~8.03 my (±0.5 my), respectively. Geochemical data suggest that the samples were likely to be derived from a subduction-related magma.
