Abstract (EN)

"Post-stroke persistent headache "is a new concept. It was recently described in the 3rd edition of the International Classification of Headache Disorders in 2018.. Stroke related headache is classified as Ischemic stroke related acute / persistent headache, hemorrhagic stroke related acute / persistent headache and transient ischemic attack related headache. The mechanism of stroke in stroke-related headache, the pathophysiology of headache, the etiological factors determining stroke-related headache, and treatment are still awaiting clarification. The purpose of this study is to describe the factors in stroke-related headache. In this prospective study, detailed anamnesis and neurological examinations of the patients were evaluated. Headache anamnesis were questioned in detail in the first week, 3rd month and 6th month. Pain intencity was measured by a visual analog scale.Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale questioned. Post-stroke headache was statistically significantly higher in younger patients (aged 20-50 years) and those with a previous history of headache, especially those with previous migraine-type headache. The number of patients with headache and the frequency, severity and duration of headache decreased over time. There was no significant relationship between the side and localization of the lesion and headache. Anxiety and depression scores were gradually decreasing at 3 and 6 months. According to the TOAST classification, the frequency of headaches in strokes due to other reasons was statistically significantly higher at the 3rd and 6th months according to other groups. Conducting prospective, controlled studies with larger cohorts investigating the pathophysiology and risk factors of stroke-related headache and determining treatment strategies can greatly contribute to these patients. Key words: Stroke related headace, post stroke headache, ischemia related persistant headache, ICH-3
