Stroke is a central nervous system disease that has a great impact on public health as the cause of long-term disability, and it a non-traumatic, focal vascular-induced injury of the central nervous system (CNS) and typically results in permanent damage in the form of cerebral infarction, intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) and/or subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), Stroke is neurological disease that usually occurs in two forms: ischemic stroke and hemorrhagic stroke, Stroke and related disability can affect living activities and cause different effects on daily life. One of these side effects of stroke is pain and weakness performance of the trunk and its association with the functions of the upper extremities and balance, which often occur after stroke. This study investigated the relationship between trunk performance and upper extremity functions, balance, functional mobility and activities of daily living after stroke, it aims to examine the relationship between trunk performance and other functions, this study was conducted at Al-Najaf teaching hospital 50 patients (male=35 and female=15) range of their ages above (65) years with post-stroke hemiplegia were included voluntarily participated in this study. Participants were selected from neurological clinics in Al-Najaf teaching hospital. has been used Trunk Impairment Scale (TIS), The Mini-Mental State Exam (MMSE), Time up and go (TUG), Functional Independence Measure (FIM), Berg balance scale (BBS), The Jebsen-Taylor Hand Function Test (JTHFT), The Fugl-Meyer Assessment (FMA), Wolf Motor Function Test (WMFT) are used as outcome measurements. xiii As a result of the statistical analysis, no significant correlation was found between GBS and TUG, BBS, FIM, JTEFT, WMFT and FMA (except for joint range of motion and joint pain) (p>0.05). According to the results of this study, no significant relationship was found between trunk performance and upper extremity functions, balance, functional activity (except for joint range of motion and joint pain), and activities of daily living in post-stroke hemiplegic individuals. We think that in stroke patients, it is necessary to try to gain trunk control from the earliest period in order to regain gait, functional use of the upper extremity, and increase independence in daily living activities.
