Abstract (EN)
The renewable energy resources which are used for many years all around the World are clean energy resources. In recent years, these energy resources are harnessed on the purpose of electric generating in our country. Day by day, as a result of fossil fuels toxic gases are emitted into the atmosphere and this case exterminates more livable World. The renewable energy resources, especially wind and solar energy, have enabled to mankind limitlessly exploitation from clean and infinite energy resource. In this thesis study, it is touched on energy generating and harnessing rates that belong to our country and the world. By the systems both modelable via software and applicable; it is investigated to find the ways to meet the electric demand (2966 kWh/day) with optimum renewable energy components and to generate cost-effective electric energy. For this reason, Malatya city-Inonu University has been sampled and the simulations considering different energy system scenarious have been carried out via HOMER program. All systems have been modelled both on-grid and off-grid. Designed systems are two kinds; isolated energy systems and hybrid energy systems. The amount of annual energy generating and consumption, cost of energy, net present cost, operating cost, capital cost and toxic gases amount emitted into atmosphere that belong to these sytems have been investigated. By adding diesel generator to hybrid renewable energy systems, different systems have been designed and tried to support with electric generating from fuel. In the study, it has been observed that the cost of energy for all off-grid systems (solar - wind) surpasses grid price, capital cost and net present cost are quite high. Otherwise it has been determined that cost of energy for on-grid hybrid energy system (except solar system design) is lower than grid price. The cost values for on-grid hybrid energy system become negative sign meaning income.
