Development of the curriculum and teaching materials for the lesson of surveying knowledge taught in the construction programs

The aim of this study is reconstruction of curriculum of topography lectures in conformity with the current conditions, and preparing the education material according to the established curriculum.The various symposia and conferences for the training of civil engineering suitability of curriculums comply with the requirements of present day have been discussed and it is declared that renovations studies are required. Besides, it is known that graduates adaptation problems occur in real market conditions, and this is also another problem. Observations show that the first solution of this problem is reorganization of courses to meet the needs of today's.In this study which is made for the renewal of construction education schedules for topography lecture in accordance with the needs of the sector, it is observed that there is no course materials prepared for the need of sector and developing technology and science. Besides, the existing course materials are usually prepared for the cartographers and there are differences on the subjects and the weight percentages based on the universities and lecturers.The present study consist of the stages of determine the requirements of present day, curriculum contents to meet those requirements and preparing the course materials. Firstly course contents of engineering, technical education and technology faculties and vocational schools have been investigated. Public survey has been made for the determining the topics to meet of the sector needs today's. Prepared surveys have been performed on the lecturers working the engineering, technical education, technology faculties and vocational schools of the universities. Survey results have been evaluated by using SPSS statistical program. Teaching materials consist of sample application appropriate for the requirements of the construction sector and parallel with the course contents created based on the survey results have been prepared.
