İnşaat sektöründe iş kazalarinin sebep ve sonuçlari üzerine bir araştirma

Workplace Safety and Health is a concept which currently, has a significant importance and keeps on gaining significance over the years. This situation applies for all sectors. Various companies have to pay attention to occupational accidents and potential occupational diseases in order to maintain safety and health at work. Numerous people lose their lives or become permanently incapacitated because of occupational accidents. For this reason, preventing occupational accidents and placing emphasis on work safety and health is crucial in terms of obstructing loss of labor force and most importantly, saving people's lives. The purpose of this thesis is to help prevent occupational accidents in construction sector and make emphasis on the certain topics about health and safety at work. The study is started with literature research and with this research, it was seen there are some defects in the sector, in terms of safety and health at work awareness and risk management process. With the researches current hazards had been detected and risk management processes that can be used in construction sector was analyzed. By the help of this information, a risk assessment sample is presented in the construction of a project which is proceeding and it is aimed to emphasize the lack of workplace safety elements. (The project in which the risk analysis prepared, for BRANDIUM construction site, which consists of a 20 storey five star hotel, a 16 storey four star hotel, four 33 storey Residence, a 4 storey Shopping Center and landscape design on 450.000m2 of construction field and built on 67.000m2 of area, which is located in Istanbul Atasehir and has up to 500 million dollars investment amount. With the help of this study, various risk factors are discovered and it is seen that the subject is not being emphasised enough even in a Project with such big investment amount and a large scale. It is foreseen that if the ongoing changes in the regulation are considered, employers or employer representatives and workers acknowledge their responsibilities and the government inspections are frequent enough, the workplace accident quantities can be decreased, human lives can be saved and also contribute to the economy.
