Abstract (EN)
Knowledge management referring to the transfering technical information and experiences accumulated during operations to the workforce and transforming them into the business knowledge has an important function in an enterprise. When we look at the sub-dimensions of knowledge management, we come across concepts such as leadership, management policies and know-how. The purpose of this study is to introduce the concept of know-how, to investigate its importance for companies and to examine the employees' awareness of the know-how culture using the example of İGDAŞ. Within the scope of the research, whether learning is carried out from the personal level to the organizational level and the relationship between the concepts of know-how culture and knowledge management are investigated. In this study, qualitative and quantitative research methods were applied together. In-depth interviews and secondary data source analysis were used as qualitative methods. As quantitative part of the study, a survey was applied to the employees working in the technical units. According to the result of the research, the level of awareness of know-how culture among employees was 81.2%. While the rate of know-how acquisition from person to person was 93.5%, the rate of transfer of know-how from person to person was 71.4%. Finally, the level of know-how recognition was measured as 36.3%. This study will make an important contribution to the literature, since there is not enough research in "know-how awareness" in general and it is the first research conducted in an enterprise operating in the energy sector. It is important to study further the concept of know-how along with its typs for future researches as well as for the literature.
