Özet (EN)

The subject of this study is ?trafficking in human beings?, which became one of the most sensational problems faced by the international community today. The historical term ?white slave traffic? is replaced by ?human trafficking?, which seems to be a better fit, considering the large scale of victims, from children to men and women or various types of exploitation, including forced labour, forced marriages, sexual and economic exploitation, etc. As a result of adapting itself to economical, sociological and legal changes and technological developments, it now has a modern face which is more complex, dangerous and shameless. Trafficking in human beings refers simply to the situation of a ?human?, becoming the ?subject? of a commerce, like a merchandise in a trade. The crime, within this context, primarily constitutes an unacceptable and extremely severe treatment against ?human? which is completely uncompatible with human dignity. As a worldwide phenomenon, trafficking in human beings, constitutes a growing problem for the international community. Turkey is in a region, where this crime is committed on a high degree.
