Abstract (EN)

Turkish and Albanian people have lived together for a long time and have been greatly influenced by each other. Especially during this time there have been many quotations of linguistic structure from Turkish to Albanian. Idioms play an important role in reflecting the heritage of common cultural approaches, feelings, lifestyle and beliefs. Nonetheless, no studies on the comparison of Turkish and Albanian idioms have been conducted . Therefore, it is foreseen that the comparison of Albanian-Turkish body idioms will be useful for both Albanian and Turkish language studies. Also, the results of the study will be a source for those who want to learn/teach Albanian and Turkish. In order to fill this gap, this study aims to reveal the similarities and differences of idioms between the two languages in terms of expression and meaning by comparing the body idioms in Turkish and Albanian. The research consisted of three stages. First, idioms related to the human body in the Albanian language were determined. Secondly, the idioms determined were translated into Turkish and later, the idioms related to the bodies of the two languages were compared.
