The relationship between decent work and job satisfaction "A research on rural workers"

The aim of this research is to reveal the effect of decent job perception on job satisfaction. In the research, food company employees who participated in employment in Manyas, a district with a rural character, were selected as a sample. The concept of decent work is also defined as proper work – decent work worthy of human dignity – respectable work. The concept of decent work protects all the rights of working individuals and contributes to the fact that employees have a peaceful and adequate job satisfaction and, as a result, to success in organizations. The impact of decent job opportunities that all organizations should offer to their employees on employee job satisfaction is of great importance. With this study, it is aimed to contribute to eliminating the deficiency in the literature on these subjects by examining the effects of the concept of decent work on job satisfaction. There are no one-on-one studies on the effect of decent work on job satisfaction in the literature, but job satisfaction has been evaluated individually with the dimensions of the concept of decent work. The data of the research were obtained by using the survey technique conducted by random sampling method on 221 people working in food companies operating in Manyas district of Balıkesir. These obtained data were tested with the 11.5 Version of the SPSS package software and Smart-PLS. As a result of the research, that is the size of physical and relational perspective of decent work from the five sub, safe working conditions, adequate wages, access to health care, leisure, family and social values as the rest of the alignment of corporate values and the last with positive and was found to have a significant effect on job satisfaction. Positive relations have emerged on the dimensions of the measurement of decent work and job satisfaction. Keywords: Decent Work, Job Satisfaction, Food Sector, Rural Areas , Working Conditions.
