Özet (EN)

This thesis aims to make the animal body an "object" in artistic production and to evaluate it through anthropocentrism. It deals with the physical and emotional violence caused by the use of existing objects without producing new images and the inclusion of live animal bodies in art, with the entry of ready-made objects into art. In this context, the first chapter focuses on anthropocentrism. The second part started with the Renaissance ideology, in which man put himself in the center, and continued with the use of the animal body as metaphor, show object, experimental methods and image through artistic productions. With the anthropocentric display of the animal body in contemporary art, he sought the traces of the domination of the animal body. He tried to think about animal rights through works of art. All these theoretical and practical processes formed the basis for personal practices and personal studies were formed within this framework. The practices created by the presence and absence of the animal body tried to make the distance between human and animal visible. During the thesis, printed and electronic sources were used, studies were made in different fields such as philosophy and sociology, artist websites, interviews and art writings were examined.
