Abstract (EN)
People have migrated ever since the dawn of humanity to have better living conditions for various reasons such as war, exile or natural disasters. During the migrations, the material and non-material elements of the cultures were transported and people coming from different cultural backgrounds started effecting each other. Different transportation and communication technologies developed in different parts of the world cause the mobilisation of the institutions, goods, services and capital both in and outside of the country and this is one of the main results of the international migration. This situation causes change in the political, social, economic and cultural structures and balances of the countries. In order to satisfy the labor force deficit of the Europe, different types of migration happened especially with the industrialization, including international migrations. Migrating internationally for different reasons caused people from different cultural backgrounds to meet and live together. Therefore, the communication problems deriving from the cultural differences and cultural conflicts form the intercultural communication and this phenomenon exists as a result of the international migration. In this regard, the international migration causes people from different cultural backgrounds to live together and the communication problems and cultural conflicts; show the growing magnitude of the international migration with globalization and increase the importance of the intercultural communication. In this study, the international migration process of the Turkish people to Germany as labor force starting from 1960 and gradually increasing as years pass by and their social, political, economic situations during the time they have spent in Germany and the intercultural communication process will be examined. In the rest of the study, the processes under intercultural communication will be examined and discussed with the qualitative research methods.
