Abstract (EN)
Patients with multiple myeloma have high levels of growth factor IL-6. In healthy individuals, there is a low correlation between the presence of the C allele at a polymorphism location in the IL-6 gene (-174 G/C) and IL-6 levels. The aim of this study was to investigate the dominance of the IL-6 (-174 G/C) promoter polymorphism in humans and its association with the development of MM disease. Comparison was made in a total of 100 samples (50 patients 50 healthy), 42 of the patients were male (21%) and the mean age was 58 (26-80 years). After performing a molecular analysis using PCR, the nature of IL-6 (-174 G/C) can be discovered. A distribution of 4% CC, 42% GC, and 54% GG was found for the group of people affected by the disease. The redundancy level of the C allele was determined to be 0.25. These results were equivalent to those of the control group, which showed that a particular polymorphism had no effect on the chance of developing MM disease. In biochemical tests, the mean serum creatinine level (3.7±0.17) mg/dL, blood urea level (61.1±1.4), calcium (26.3±0.97), and albumin (24 ±0.75) in patients with renal failure. Regarding these factors, a number of research groups differed significantly from each other.
