Abstract (EN)

In the present world, devolopments in all areas cause to reshape transportation sector. By spreading of globalization, transportation sector that taking over has begun to play an important role in economy of countries and in world trade day by day. Countries that cannot solve the basic transportation problems cannot succeed and decisive role in any sector. For this reason, structural dynamics of transportation sector should be handled not only concerning status in our country but also in worldwide and in frame of economic and legal relationship with European Union.When integrated with European Union, for Turkey undertaking the mission of a logistic station in the region, the devolopment of global logistic and intermodal transportation network in important.Geographical and structural changes in the foreing trade of Turkey reveal significant results in transportation system and cause of increasing the need in guick delivery and effective management of supply chains. Users of transportation service request and competitive and effective transportation service arriving to right location with affordable price in a timely.Therefore, supply chain management, logistic, integrated intermodal transportation come into prominence and demand for intermodal transportation is increasing. Depending on these devolopments, the role of actors in the transportation sector has radically changed from traditional transportation functions to the supplying of logistic services.The aims in this study are to determine requirements for establishment of an effective intermodal transportation and logistic village system in Turkey, to analysis of effects of the global dynamic on intermodal transportation and logistic system and to examine of intermodal transportation and logistic applications of villages in the European Union and Turkey. Moreover, this study aims also to propose strategy and policy fort he devolopment of intermodal competition by considering consumers, carriers, logistic providers and goverment policies.
