Abstract (EN)
This is a qualitative case study aiming to determine the views of the experts from distance education and English language teaching on foreign language education on the Internet. In this study, the principles of Media Richness Theory and Communicative Language Teaching were matched and common ones are extracted. According to these common principles, a semi-structured interview was constructed to find out the expert views. 4 English language teaching experts from a faculty of education ELT department of a university in Turkey and 4 distance education experts throughout the world contributed to this study.According to the research results, 8 main and 25 sub themes in foreign language education on the Internet were found. In this context, concerning the foreign language education on the Internet, the expert views are verified on the following concepts: variety, interaction and factors affecting it, contextual learning, communicative competence, learner errors, feedback and learner level.
