The contextual sequence and functional dictionary of Intizami's Tuhfetu'l-Ihvan

The sergüzeşnames, in which some or all of the lives of poets are narrated, are noteworthy because they are memoirs and contain important information in terms of history. Thanks to such works, it is possible to obtain a lot of information about the person who is the subject of the work, his personal characteristics, his childhood, the diseases he suffered, the places he travelled, the love adventures he experienced, and the social situation and thoughts of the period in which it was written. One of the important works written in the style of Sergüzeşnâme is Bosnalı İntizâmî's "Tuhfetu'l-İhvan". As a matter of fact, in this study, this work of İntizâmî, which is not much information in the sources, written in the genre of sergüzeştnâme and in the form of masnavi verse, has been analysed within the scope of TEBDİZ project. In the study, Tuhfetu'l-İhvân was analysed with the contextual index method and a functional dictionary was prepared. In the study, firstly the explanation of "sergüzeştname" genre and "mesnevi" verse form was made, and then the study was divided into three sections: Intizami's short life story, the section where his works are explained, the section where detailed information about the content of the work, which is the subject of the study, and the section where Tuhfetu'l-İhvan is examined. The aim of the study is to present the information about the life and work of Intizami, whose short life story does not exceed a few paragraphs in the sources, in a more detailed and organised way with the help of the poet's own work, Tuhfetu'l-İhvan, and to create a functional dictionary of this work. This study, which is based on Tuhfetu'l-İhvan prepared and published by the Turkish Manuscript Institution, will contribute to both literary and linguistic studies that will come after it in terms of enabling a dictionary study of the words in the work.
