Abstract (EN)

Millimetric wave radar systems provide all-weather information which can't be obtained by other sensor technologies. On the market, the 77 GHz radar sensor chips become affordable, so the usage of the radar systems will be expected to dominate the automotive domain. One obvious consequences of increasing application of same RF band, especially in traffic jam is the interference management. This is an important issue and addressed by the key players in automotive radar Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM). Another possible event is the intentional jamming of 77 GHz radar sensors by a hostile. The aim of this study is to show with a necessary analysis that Advanced Driver Assistant Systems (ADAS) radar systems can be jammed, and significant performance degradation might occur. All aspects of jamming systems are considered such as required power, antenna, waveform generators (DRFM: Digital Frequency Memory) as well as jamming techniques, etc. The range doppler map and Constant False Alarm Rate detection mechanism without and with jamming conditions are also investigated.
