Abstract (EN)

In this study, specimens with different surface patterns were fabricated from a next-generation polylactic acid (PLA) filament using the fused deposition modeling (FDM) technique. Half of the fabricated specimens were subjected to hydrothermal aging treatment. The molecular structural changes of hydrothermally aged and non-aged PLA samples were analyzed using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), while their mechanical behavior was evaluated through standardized mechanical tests. The obtained results revealed that different surface patterns led to significant variations in the mechanical strength of PLA specimens. Furthermore, hydrothermal aging was found to influence the bonding structure of PLA, resulting in changes in mechanical strength and stiffness values. These findings demonstrate that surface design and hydrothermal aging strategies constitute important tools for optimizing the mechanical performance of PLA specimens manufactured via the FDM process.
