Investigation of relationship between Anti T.gondii and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and nitric oxide (NO) for the diagnosis of Toxoplasma gondii in pregnant women

The aim of the current study is to diagnose Toxoplasma gondii in women and investigate the relationship between TNF-α and lack of antioxidants. addition, the evaluation of some serological and biochemical tests and study of the correlation between these parameters in women with Anti T. gondii IgG positive and negative group. Their results showed that there were differences in the IgG seroprevalence values of the two tested groups. Anti T gondii IgG seroprevalence was found to be significantly superior when the high and negative group were compared on the basis of mean and percentage. Anti T. gondii IgG seroprevalence of women infected with Toxoplasmosis group recorded 120 cases positive with a percentage of 74.5% and 41 cases negative with a percentage of 25.5%. The result revealed that the groups studied varied in their mean of WBC counts, while women with Anti T. gondii IgG positive prevalence showed an elevation in basophil, monocyte, and neutrophil which recorded 0.14 %, 0.54 %, and 4.77×103/mm3 as compared with 0.12%, 0.38%, and 2.73×103/mm3 respectively for healthy women negative Anti T. gondii IgG group. Also, the findings indicated that the women with IgG antibodies prevalence significantly increased the WBC count which recorded 8.1×109/L as compared with 6.46×109/L for healthy women. This finding suggests that the level of nitric oxide in infected women with (positive Anti T. gondii IgG group) 69.98±4.81 µmol/L, was much higher than the other group(Negative Anti T. gondii IgG group) which recorded 5.25±0.33µmol/L. According to the findings of this study, TNF-α levels were found to be 130.19±6.17 pg/mL in pregnant women with positive Anti T. gondii IgG group, while 16.45±1.28 pg/mL for negative Anti T. gondii IgG group. Therefore, the positives are significantly more than the negatives.
