Özet (EN)
The aim of this study is to examine the chronic effect of rope jumping exercises on respiratory muscle strength. For this purpose, a total of 26 male volunteers (experimental group: age; 17.46±0.87 years; control group: age; 17.08±1.32 years) participated. Volunteers participating in the study were randomly assigned to 2 separate groups of 13 people. The groups were divided into two: control and experimental groups. The experimental group performed rope jumping exercises in 30-minute sessions, 4 days a week for 8 weeks. The control group did not participate in any application during the 8-week period and only participated in the pre-post test measurements. Pre- and post-test respiratory muscle strength measurements were performed while the participants were completely rested, one day before and one day after the 8-week exercise program. Respiratory muscle strength was measured with a respiratory pressure meter. It was determined that the data obtained showed a normal distribution, and in the statistical analysis section, Paired Sample t Test was used to analyze the pre-post test data within the groups. Independent Sapmle t Test was used to compare the mean differences between the groups obtained from the pre-post test. Data are presented as mean, standard deviation, minimum and maximum values, and significance was examined at the p<0.05 level. As a result of the statistical analysis of the data, when comparing the pre-test and post-test of the groups, a significant difference was detected in favor of the post-test in all parameters in the experimental group (p <0.05). In the control group, a significant difference was detected in PIP, PEP and MEP values in favor of the post-test (p<0.05). In the intergroup comparison of the mean differences of the groups from the pre-post test, significance was detected in all parameters in favor of the experimental group (p <0.05). As a result, it can be said that rope jumping exercises performed for 8 weeks have a positive and significant effect on respiratory muscle strength.
