Özet (EN)

In this study, some general knowledge about frictional properties of yarns, factors affecting these properties and measurement of yarn friction were given first and then effects of some of these factors on yarn frictional properties were analyzed with the experimental work.Within the context of experimental work, friction coefficients of yarns produced in different spinning systems with different raw materials and with different twist multipliers have been examined. The effects of yarn structural properties on yarn-to-yarn, yarn-to-metal and yarn-to-ceramic friction coefficients and also the effects of test conditions on yarn friction have been investigated by using three different input tensions and three different friction surfaces. In conclusions, it has been stated that yarn structural properties and test conditions affect the yarn friction coefficient. When the effect of raw material on results was examined, it was obtained that yarn-to-yarn friction decreases, yarn-to-metal and yarn-to-ceramic friction increases with the increasing ratio of the tencel in blended yarn. An examination of the effect of spinning systems on results indicates that friction coefficients of ring, compact and vortex yarns were different because of the nature of their different surface properties. When the effects of the test conditions were examined, it was seen that friction coefficient decreases certainly for yarn-to-yarn test with the increasing input tension. When the experimental results were investigated according to yarn-to-yarn, yarn-to-metal and yarn-to ceramic friction, it was determined that the highest friction coefficients were obtained for yarn-to ceramic test, on the other hand the lowest for yarn-to-yarn test.
