Abstract (EN)

This is a qualitative case study aiming to determine the views of experts from IPTV on building social networks for distance education in IPTV environment. This research utilizes Social Networking Theory and Decision Making Approach. A theoretical matrix was developed based on the principles of Social Networking Theory and Decision Making Approach. This matrix helped the researcher to generate and develop 30 open-ended questions for a semi-structured interview survey to find out the expert views. The survey was send to three experts from Turkey and one expert from abroad through e-mail. According to the research results, 131 main themes on building social networks for distance education in IPTV environment were found. The expert views show that applications provide social interactions on IPTV environments can be offered and IPTV learning environments can be useful when integrated with social networks. In this context, results have been highlighted features that should be considered when performing applications. Keywords: IPTV, Distance Education, Social Network Theory, Decision Making Approach
