The economy politic of the relationship between Turkey and Iraqi Kurds after the invasion of Iraq (2003-2012)

This study aims to elaborate the economic and political relationships of Turkey and Iraqi Kurds after the invasion of Iraq, and in this relationship it analyses the political factors which effect economy in the concept of the theory of interdependence. In addition to being one of the most strategic regions of Iraq, Northern Iraq is neighboring to Turkey. Therefore, the importance of Northern Iraq for Turkey with the regard to the economic and politic is as much as its importance for Iraq. There are so many actors and factors determining the relationships between Turkey and Iraqi Kurdish People. PKK is one of the most important ones of these. The PKK terrorist organization has been effecting exceedingly the political relationships to both Central Iraq Government and Kurdish Region. In terms of evaluating changing sociological situations in the region and country it has such an importance that chronologically investigated years of the study are including the period following the occupation of Iraq. It is tought that the examination of Turkey's view to the occupation of Iraq, the attitude of Iraqi Kurds and some politic and economic actors apperaed after the occupation will be useful for the future studies. The relations between Turkey and Iraq has been evaluated with the numbers obtained from the offical sources. After the lift of embargo at 2003, rising at exportation and importation numbers is an evidence of political recovery in Iraq. At 2006, the reduction on the same numbers and synchronously rising terrorist attacks also shows that terrorism of PKK is a determinative element on political and economic relations. It is observed that The Agreement of High-Level Strategic Cooperation made the economic relations gain a new rank. Following this event, Abdullah Gül' s and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's visit to Iraq at 2009 made the commercial relations of two country rise to the top numbers. The rise and reduction numbers of these economic relations are explained with their reasons on tha Table-2. Table's analysis is presented at last section of the study. The hypothesis, " There is no interdependence between Turkey and Kurdish Regional Government", has been proved with comparison of politic events and commercial numbers in the last section. On the contrary of concept of interdependence, the political factors has directed the relations between Turkey and Iraqi Kurds.
