Abstract (EN)
The coronavirus, which is one of the rapidly spreading respiratory viruses and causes acute respiratory syndrome, has been effective all over the world. This has led to the rapid development of a large number of vaccines and drugs to minimize the severity of the disease and speed up the patient's recovery. In our study, it was aimed to determine the genetic variability of interleukin-12 and angiotensin converting enzyme-2 in COVID-19. For this purpose, blood samples were taken from 100 COVID-19 patients aged between 15 and 80 years. Immunological and genetic studies were performed to evaluate the blood levels of IL-12 and ACE-2 in the samples taken. Then, T-test was performed to determine the statistical meaning of the obtained data. A statistically significant difference was found in serum IL-12 levels and ACE-2 levels between severely and non-severely ill individuals.
