Özet (EN)

ABSTRACT Master Thesis MOLECULAR DETECTION OF MOUSE MAMMARY TUMOR-LIKE VIRUS (MMTV-LIKE) IN BREAST CARCINOMA FOR IRAQI FEMALE PATIENTS Hasan Ali Mohammed AL-CHAABAWI Çankırı Karatekin University Institute of Science Department of Biology Supervisor : Asst. Prof. Dr. Müge FIRAT / Turkey Co-supervisor : Prof. Dr. Mohammed E. MANSUR / Iraq The mouse mammary tumor virus (MMTV) was discovered over 74 years ago to be transmitted through mothers' milk and causal for mammary tumours in 95% of field and experimental mice. Since the discovery of MMTV, many studies have been conducted to find causes of similar viruses that cause breast cancer in humans, and human breast tumor virus (HMTV) has been discovered. HMTV is also referred to as MMTV-like virus. Considered an animal model for the human breast cancer study, MMTV-like virus can be transmitted from mother to daughter by sucking milk. In this thesis; the relationship between mouse breast tumor-like virus and breast cancer was investigated using molecular methods in tissue biopsies taken from Iraqi female breast cancer patients. The positive results obtained were compared with the results of some other countries where similar studies were conducted and reported. 2021, 44 pages KEYWORDS: Breast cancer, MMTV-like virus, PCR, Iraq.
