Abstract (EN)
Work and family life constitute the major part of most individuals' lives. One of the factors influencing modern working life is the conflict that employees experience between their work and family lives. Conflicting roles of people between work and family life and the emergence of conflicting demands and incompatible needs at the same time have been witnessed. Work-Family conflict is the problems arise from the reflections of the effects of working life conflict on family life and/or vice versa. Among the problems experienced by academics is the conflict of work and family life. The aim of this study is to examine the problem of academia 's family life conflict. In this context, a survey was conducted with 320 academicians working in Sakarya University. The surveys were analyzed with SPSS 24.0.As a result of the analyzes, the level of work-family conflict of the academicians participating in the research varied according to the sub-dimensions of the conflict, and it was determined that the level of conflict from work to family was higher than the level of family conflict. The level of work-family conflict of academicians is based on demographic variables such as gender, age, marital status, working status of spouse, number of children; It has been determined that there is a significant difference between the faculty, title, economic perception of life, seniority, weekly average working hours and work time factors. There was no significant relationship between work-family conflict and monthly household income, administrative duty presence, home-based work hours and weekly workload.
