Abstract (EN)

It is understood that digital technologies, which create the possibility of interactive documentaries, have the potential to create a new form for documentary. In terms of types of interactivity, forms of community building, and collaborative strategies, digital technologies provide new strategies and methods for documentary. In collaborative interactive documentaries, the subjects forming the topic of the documentary are not represented by a single producer, and the subjects forming the topic of the project can interfere with the content and/or the production stages of the project. The aim of this study is to reveal the forms of community building and its impact on projects while examining the role of the community in collaborative interactive documentaries, one of the interactive documentary genres. The projects examined as a sample in the study have the power to create a group of people, namely the community, gathered around the same goal in their own environment. In order to understand the transformative potential of projects within the history of documentary cinema, it is important to understand the relationship they establish with communities. The analysis of the community's position in projects through four examples of collaborative interactive documentaries that focus on the community is important as it contributes to the work done in this field and makes the documentaries more visible.
