Abstract (EN)

This study aims to examine the effects of the collaborative learning method on team performance in First Lego League (FLL) activities. The research focuses on the role of the collaborative learning process in team dynamics, intra-group communication, and problem-solving skills. Within the scope of the study, standardized open-ended interview forms and in-depth interviews were conducted with 12 students and 10 mentors who participated in FLL events. The data were analyzed using qualitative analysis methods. Data were collected through student interview forms, individual evaluations of team members, and tournament results related to team performance. The analyses revealed that teams effectively using collaborative learning techniques significantly improved their skills in problem-solving, task sharing, and time management. The findings indicate that collaborative learning enhances students' academic and social skills, positively influences team performance, and serves as an effective instructional method in STEM-focused activities. The study highlights that competitions like FLL provide an ideal environment for implementing collaborative learning methods in education.
