Evaluation of the relationship between the job satisfaction and the exhaustion syndrome: An example from Eskişehir Regıonal Directorate of Forestry

Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to specify the job satisfaction and burnout levels for the employees of Eskişehir Regional Directorate of Forestry and to determine either these levels differ according to the specific demographic variables or not. Moreover, the relationship between the job satisfaction and the burnout is tried to be determined. Surveys are applied to the 80 employees of Eskişehir Regional Directorate of Forestry in the screening model research. Personal Information Form, the Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale and the Maslach Burnout Scale are used to gather data. The analyses of data are carried out by descriptive statistics methods (frequency, percentage, average and standard deviation), t test, one-way analysis of variance, LSD test and correlation analysis and significance level is accepted as 0,05. According to the results obtained from the research; meaningful differences found in external satisfaction sub-dimension with educational background, emotional burnout sub-dimension with age, educational background, service year in institution, total work experience, depersonalization sub-dimension with service year in institution, total work experience and personal accomplishment sub-dimension with educational background. Negative intermediate level relationship is found between the job satisfaction and burnout as the result of the correlation analysis. Job satisfaction decreases while burnout increases.
