The mediator role of job crafting in the effect of occupational safety awareness on perception of job performance

The aim of this study is to investigate whether job crafting has a mediating role in the effect of job security awareness on job performance perception. In this context, in the first part of the study, the definition, principles, purpose, importance, historical development of the concept of occupational health and safety are explained and important organizations working in the field of occupational health and safety are discussed. In the second part, the definition of the concept of job crafting, its dimensions and job crafting behavior, job crafting motivation, the antecedents and consequences of job crafting, and the effects of job crafting are evaluated in detail. In the third chapter, the definition of the concept of job performance, its dimensions, theories, factors affecting job performance, performance management, performance management process, performance evaluation processes, performance evaluation methods and mistakes made in performance evaluation are explained. In the last part of the study, the methodology part of the research, discussion, conclusion and recommendations are included. In the study, data were collected by applying the survey method to the employees of Burdur Municipality. The collected data were entered into the SPPS 25 Package Program, and descriptive analyzes and reliability tests were carried out, followed by the independent sample T-Test and One-Way Anova Tests. Path analysis with Confirmatory Factor Analysis and Structural Equation Model was applied in SPSS AMOS program, and as a result of the analysis, mediation analysis was performed with SPSS Process Model. According to the results of the study, it was concluded that job rcrafting has a partial mediating role in the effect of occupational safety awareness on the perception of job performance. At the same time, a significant and positive effect of occupational safety awareness on the perception of job performance; a significant and positive effect of job crafting on the perception of job performance; It has been determined that occupational safety awareness has a significant and positive effect on job crafting.
