Changes in the role of government at ensuring occupational health and safety

Occupational health and safety is located in one of the most important rights of employees. The most important element of using this right is protecting workers against health and safety risks arising working environment and improving this protection. This provision requires the state?s intervention into the labour market. However, constriction of the states into the labour market which is reformed by the effect of the globalization restricted the protection of the employees, too. In forming labour market, the policies of the multinational companies; as in political social areas; health and security conditions are effective. Companies? applications of their own rules in the new production model affect employees adversely in the field of labour health and security.OHSAS 18001 is a quality certificate which shows that companies are carrying out health and security requirements. In today?s market conditions, this is a certificate preferred by the multilingual companies in their working conditions. But, it is not sufficient that a company has got a certificate of occupational health and security management system in providing health and security with the employees to carry out an effective health and security policy. For this purpose, in this study, the effects of the reduction of the state?s intervention in the field and the applications of health and security are related.
