Abstract (EN)
Occupational accidents and diseases are the most emphasized problems in recent years due to the costs on the society. The most important reason for the occupational accidents and the diseases is lack of occupational health and safety knowledge by workers or lack of attantions on the subject. The purpose of this study is to measure occupational health and safety culture with its subscales, and to determine their impacts on job satisfaction level.The population of this survey is a state establishment in Anatolian side of Istanbul area which has 750 employees. The findings are gathered by applying the questionnaire to 300 employees. The questionnaire has 4 parts: demographic questions, safety culture questionnaire, safety behavior questionnaire, and minesota job satisfaction questionnaire. SPSS program is used to analyze the findings. The methodology of the survey is to measure the demographic findings, occupational health and safety culture questionaire, safety behavior questionnaire and minesota job satisfaction questionnaire's frequencies and percentages. Reliability test and factor analysis test are used to measure reliability and validity of the questionnaire. Independent T test and One Way Anova tests are used to measure relationship between demographic findings with occupational health and safety culture, safe behavior and job satisfaction. Correlation and regretion tests are used to measure the relationship bethween job satisfaction, occupational health safety culture and safe behaviour. The results of the survey: Occupational health and safety culture has important level of impact on the job satisfaction, at the same time high job satisfaction level on the employees causes high level of occupational health and safety culture. In order to provide safe working environment, the attitute of management and the behaviour of management are important on the employees perception of occupational health and safety culture, and job satisfaction. At the same time, in order to provide safe working environment education is the key factor.
