Abstract (EN)

In today's complex and hectic corporate world, mental (cognitive) failures play a vital role. Cognitive failures which are described as mental errors produced by a person in simple tasks that are ordinarily accomplished without error, have a significant impact on a person's job and personal life. "Errors with a cognitive basis in simple tasks that a person can typically accomplish without error" are defined as cognitive failures. At the same time, mental loss is broadly described as the proclivity to make errors in daily regular labor, and it plays a significant role in today's commercial world. Memory, distraction, or physical factors could all be to cause for this ailment. Furthermore, while an individual's work environment is always a component that might produce stress, assigning duties to workers who are capable of more or less labor causes stress. Job stress can be caused by a variety of factors. Stress can be caused by inefficient working circumstances, excessive or no supervision, and organizational flaws. The way people react to stress in the workplace reveals a variety of characteristics. Individuals with a strong drive to succeed are inspired by tension, but those with a weak desire to succeed are stressed by it. Individual differences influence stress structure, hence it is vital to interpret stress according to the individual. In this context, the goal of this study is to determine if five-factor personality qualities have a significant role in the relationship between job stress and mental (cognitive) failures. This research consists of the personnel of public hospitals (Firat University Faculty of Medicine Hospital and Fırat University Faculty of Dentistry) located in the city center of Elazig. These hospitals employ a total of 1451 medical staff. The study's results were collected using a questionnaire technique for two health institutions between January and February 2022. The 5-point Likert approach was used to score the job stress scale, the five-factor personality scale, and the mental loss scale. There are 325 questionnaires that have been examined. Extraversion qualities, according to research, serve a considerable role in the relationship between job stress and mental loss. Because the mediation effect could not be determined, these effects cannot be considered significant. While the total effect of job stress on mental failures (when extraversion tool is included in the model as a variable) is 28.96%; 29.54% of this effect is direct effect and 0.0058% indirect effect. Compatibility traits have a mediating function in the relationship between job stress and mental loss. Because the mediation effect could not be determined, these effects cannot be considered significant. While the total effect of job stress on mental failures (when adaptability tool is included in the model as a variable) is 29.35%; 27.88% of this effect is direct effect and 1.47% indirect effect. Responsibility characteristics play a mediating variable role in the relationship between job stress and mental failures. While the total effect of job stress on mental failures (when the responsibility tool is included in the model as a variable) is 37.67%; 28.12% of this effect is direct effect and 9.55% is indirect effect. While the total effect of job stress on mental failures (when the emotional balance tool is included in the model as a variable) is 29.35%; 27.88% of this effect is direct effect and 1.47% indirect effect. In the association between job stress and mental failures, openness to experience traits play a moderating function. Because the mediation effect could not be determined, these effects cannot be considered significant. While the total effect of job stress on mental failures (when openness to experience is included in the model as a variable) is 28.97%; 29.89% of this effect is direct effect and -0.0046% indirect effect.
