The mediation role of organizational opposition behavior in the relationship of job satisfaction and prosocial behavior trends: the case of Mehmet Akif Ersoy University

In this study, the relations between job satisfaction, prosocial behavior and organizational opposition are examined. The aim of the study is to determine the effect of perception of job satisfaction on prosocial behavior and organizational opposition, and also to determine the mediating role of organizational opposition. For this purpose, the model showing the relationship between variables was developed by making literature review. In order to test the model, data were collected from 246 academicians from Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University in Burdur. The collected data were analyzed in SPSS 25 and PROCESS statistics program and hypotheses were tested. According to the results of the analysis, most of the hypotheses were accepted. According to the results of the study, perception of job satisfaction positively affects the prosocial behaviors of academicians and vertical opposition dimension of the organizational opposition and organizational opposition, vertical opposition and horizontal opposition dimension positively affect prosocial behaviors. In addition, it has been determined that organizational opposition has a partial mediating role in the effect of job satisfaction perception on the prosocial behaviors of academicians. According to this result, it is estimated that job satisfaction will have a positive effect on prosocial behavior if organizational opposition environment climate provided.
