The effect of factors affecting job satisfaction on the marketing performance of pharmaceutical representatives

All over the world and in our country, the pharmaceutical industry maintains a critical and important activity. The marketing activities of the pharmaceutical industry are carried out by medical representatives and the performances of pharmaceutical representatives have a determining effect on the pharmaceutical industry. Therefore, the performance of pharmaceutical representatives is expected to be high. Since job satisfaction is one of the most important factors affecting employee performance, this study aimed to examine the effects of the factors affecting the job satisfaction of pharmaceutical representatives on the pharmaceutical marketing performance of these representatives. Quantitative research methods were used in the research and the data of the research were collected from 385 pharmaceutical representatives working in the province of Istanbul by questionnaire method. The data of the study were analyzed using Pearson correlation test, multiple regression, t-test and ANOVA test after testing normality and reliability. The findings of the study showed that only wages and working conditions, among the factors of wage, promotion, management, social benefits, rewards, colleagues and working conditions, have a significant and positive effect on the performance of pharmaceutical representatives. It has been determined that the completed realization rates, which are measured as an indicator of the performance of pharmaceutical representatives, do not differ significantly according to gender and managerial status at work. On the other hand, it was determined that the performances of pharmaceutical representatives differed significantly according to age, marital status, education level, monthly income, professional experience and company experience.
