Procrastination at work place and causes

The purpose of this study is to examine the defination, theoretical approaches, reasons especially conducted two main subjects that are personal conditions and situational conditions of procrastination at work theoretically and practically. Procrastination at work place often emerges as a phenemenon that affects the effectiveness and efficiency of people negatively. Job procrastination that affects in many forms of people's daily life and work life, can be defined as a motivation form that people in a prefered and includes interaction of the features of job and persoanlity structure, cognitive, emotional and behavioral components which leads attitudes and behaviors of people towards work and instead of effort for long-term benefits, by appearing activities which people purpose to provide happiness and benefits in short-term while reacting in favour of some stimulants. Though it has negative effects, it has seen that there are some researches stated procrastination has positive effects. As well as productivity of people who procrastinate their works may be reduced, it is stated that it can be done also in time by getting the top of summit of their performance in some researches. Besides to start and finish to work on time and working without stress, diciplined, honest, with devotedly and faithfully is accepted more ideal and a positive work attitude. At the first section of the study, it is focused on that constitutes the theoretical foundation, defination, psychological foundations, nature, importance, elements, components, types and the main reasons of procrastination. At the second section, it is focused on defination, history, nature, importance, elements, components, classification, related approaches, reasons and strategies of solution of the phenomenon of procrastination at work. Finally at third section, it is mentioned in Turkey's banking sector subject superficially, a survey application on procrastination at work in banking sector and focused on data. İt is examined status of procrastination at work with the survey application on procrastination for banking employees at different bank's branches.
