Abstract (EN)

The main purpose of the research is to examine the mediating role of organizational cynicism in the relationship between workplace incivility and cyberloafing. The research was carried out at the 18th Regional Directorate of Highways (KGM). The sample group of the research consists of 407 personnel working in the 18th Regional Directorate of Highways (KGM). These personnel were selected by the convenience sampling method. Within the scope of the research, the opinions of the personnel working in the 18th Regional Directorate of Highways were obtained through the workplace incivility scale, organizational cynicism scale, cyberloafing scale and social desirability scale. In addition, the personal information form regarding the demographic information of the personnel was also used. In this study, it is discussed that employees who have been subjected to workplace incivility in public institutions develop cynical attitudes towards the organization and as a result of this situation, they give weight to cyberloafing behaviors. The models established for the study of research hypotheses were based on the structural equation model with the help of the Amos program. In the study, when the differences of workplace incivility, cyberloafing and organizational cynicism according to gender, age, marital status and title were examined, it was found that only organizational cynicism differed according to age. As a result of the research, it was found that workplace incivility has a positive relationship with affective, cognitive and behavioral cynicism, which are the sub-dimensions of organizational cynicism. It has been concluded that there is a relationship between workplace incivility and significant cyberloafing, and there is no relationship between workplace incivility and insignificant cyberloafing. Cognitive cynicism has been found to have a mediating role in the relationship between workplace incivility and significant cyberloafing, while affective and behavioral cynicism has not been found to have a mediating effect on the effect of workplace incivility on significant cyberloafing.
