Isâmuddîn al-Isfarâyînî and evaluation of al-Atwa's annotation in terms of rhetoric (The parts of preface and maʻânî)

In this study, the life of İsâmuddin el-İsferâyîni and his commentary named al-Atvel are examined. The study consists of introduction and three parts. In the introduction part, information about the subject, purpose, scope, method and sources of the research has been given. In addition, brief evaluations of Isferâyîni's period are also mentioned in this section. In the first part, the author's personality, family, education, teachers, students, scientific aspect and works are examined. In the second chapter, al-Atvel is analyzed in terms of content. In this context, the general features of the work have been determined, as well as the criticisms directed to the work and its contributions to the science of rhetoric. In the third chapter, it is analyzed in terms of discussions in rhetoric. The debates that were determined were discussed in the context of the opinions of rhetoricians who belong to the tradition of at-Talhîs. Opinions on the discussions were evaluated by comparing with Isferâyîni's comments. This section is limited to the discussions in the introduction and semantic sections of rhetoric.
