Abstract (EN)

The rapidly developing technological, economic and social changes have forced the individual to change as well as to organize. The satisfaction that individuals get while fulfilling their profession is very important for both themselves and the institution they are in. Personal characteristics, information and skills should be prioritized to ensure job satisfaction. Organizations today are affected by workoholism because of the workoholic employees. Workoholism is defined as overwork and addiction to job. While some organizations reward employees with overworked work for the purpose of increasing efficiency, some organizations are implementing practices that reduce worker's tendencies. Workoholism is profitable in the short term, but in the long run it has negative consequences for the organization. Workoholism has physical and psychological negative effects on the individual and after a while comes to the request to come to work late and to leave work. Besides, it is the whole of the roles that a career person plays in his working life. Career planning refers to a process through which an individual's career goals are created and progressed within the organization. With career planning, both the individual's own goals are identified and the extent to which the organization can respond to these needs is analyzed. With proper career planning, development areas are identified and necessary programs are created. When setting out to explore again the individual in his business career planning must inevitably for more work. There is a need in the literature for work to be evaluated together for workoholism and career planning. Therefore, in this study, it was aimed to make determinations on the effects of workoholism on the career planning.
