Comparison of alimony obligation to your husband after divorce in Islamic family law with other legal systems in terms of legal history

Our study discussed the husband's alimony obligation after divorce in Islamıc law by comparing it whith the legal systems of ancient and contemporary civilizations. While preraring this topic, alimony understandings in other legal systems were examined systematically and holistically. In the Islamic legal systems the wievs of four sects are included rather than adhering to a single sect's view on alimony. Thus with this study it is aimed that the period of iddat and the amount of maruf, which are the fair and equitable alimony measures of the Islamıc legalsystem will guide the alimony understanding of other legal systems. When we come to the parts of our study these are It consists of an introduction two parts and a conclusion. In the introduction, the purpose, method, importance, limitations of our research and its difference from similar studies are discussed. In the first part the translations of the articles of law regarding the husband's alimony obligation after divorce and the practices regarding alimony in the legal systems of ancient and current civilizations are examined one by one. Thus, in this section it is aimed to better understand the place of this obligation in legal history by showing the existence importance and development process of alimony obligation from the first civilizations to the present day. In the second part the place importance and revelant definitions of the husband's alimony obligation in Islamic law are discussed. Then the development porocess of the husband's alimony abligation in Islamıc countries was revealed and this alomny obligation was compered with other legal systems. As a result the information and findings obtained were evaluated.
