The concept of martyrdom and honanary titel for war veterans in Islâmic law

Martyrdom is the highest rank given in Islam to the person who sacrifices his/her life in the way of Allah. This concept is frequently mentioned in the Qur'an and hadiths and has played an important role throughout Islamic history. Martyrs have the highest rank in the sight of Allah. They will have eternal bliss in Paradise and will be rewarded with many blessings. The families of martyrs will also benefit from these blessings. Veteran is a title given to a believer who fights for Allah and is wounded or disabled. This title represents the courage, sacrifice and heroism of the person. The concepts of martyrdom and veteranism in Turkey are very important issues that need to be analyzed in depth with their historical, cultural and social contexts. These concepts are considered not only as a status or a material reward, but also as symbols of national unity and solidarity, patriotism and heroism. However, the concepts of martyrdom and veteranism are defined differently periodically and regionally. For this reason, it is very important to investigate the concept of martyrdom and veteranism in terms of Islamic law. This thesis has been written to contribute to the correct understanding of the subject of 'The Concept of Martyrdom and Veteranism in terms of Islamic Law' based on verses and hadiths. In the sources used, examples such as martyrdom in hadiths, the view of other religions on martyrdom, and the methods of veterans to cope with these situations are included. In this study, in addition to other theses, the definition of the concept of martyrdom and veteranism in Turkey and the opportunities provided are revealed.
