Abstract (EN)

The main purpose of this research is to investigate the religiosity levels of parents with disabled children and their attitudes towards their children's disability. For this purpose, families with disabilities residing in Çubuk district of Ankara were selected as a sample and a questionnaire was applied to 160 parents. In order to measure the participants' level of religiosity and their attitudes towards disability, questions of "basic religious belief scale", "religious behavior scale" and attitude towards disability were asked. As a result of the exploratory factor analysis, it was seen that attitudes were gathered in two factors. The first factor is called "test" and the second factor is called "entrusted". Descriptive analysis was conducted to measure the level of parents' basic religious beliefs, religious behaviors and attitudes towards disability. As a result of the analysis, it was concluded that the levels of basic religious belief, religious behavior and attitude towards disability were quite high. Independent samples t-test and one-way analysis of anova variance were performed to see if there was a difference between the groups. As a result of the multiple hierarchical regression analysis performed to measure the effect on attitudes towards disability, it was concluded that basic religious beliefs and religious behaviors were effective on "test" and "entrusted" attitudes, while demographic variables were not.
