Abstract (EN)
Along with the changes and transformations in the social structure, the religious life is also reshaped. It is observed that religion is repositioned within the consumer society and has gained a new appearance by moving away from its traditional appearance. The mutual interaction of consumption culture and Islamic religion has brought about some changes in the living and perception of religious values, and has made possible the formation of a new market and a differentiating Islamic consumption culture. Within this new Islamic consumption culture, new forms of consumption have emerged as manifestations of the changing relationship between Islam and capitalism. One of the current examples among these new consumption forms, which can be expressed as Islamic consumption, Islamic fashion and Islamic holidays, is Islamic hotels. This research examines the experiences of Muslim travelers in Islamic hotels. The research has a qualitative design and a systematic compilation method was used. By creating inclusion and exclusion criteria, 21 Turkish and 21 English key concepts and 9 databases were searched. As a result of the scanning process, 52 studies were included in the review. The data obtained from the studies were coded, processed and analyzed in the MAXQDA 2022 qualitative data analysis program. In addition, the data were analyzed under 5 themes (Islamic Hotels within the Framework of Worships and Rituals, Islamic Hotels in the Framework of Consumption of Place, Islamic Hotels in the Framework of Lifestyle and Entertainment Practices, Islamic Hotels in the Framework of Management, Administration and Design Practices, Vacationing in an Islamic Hotel Through the Eyes of Muslim Travelers). According to the findings of the study, there are various factors that affect Muslim travelers' holiday preferences and experiences in Islamic hotels. It is seen that the products and services offered by Islamic hotels are perceived and evaluated in different ways among Muslim travelers, and positive and negative experiences are experienced together.
