Abstract (EN)

Throughout the centuries, in both social and formal structures, in short, in all media where humans existed, conflicts were emerged out. Therefore, conflict had been the theme of many disciplines. In this study, the concept of ?conflict? was handled in the framework of methodology and examined in all the levels of business (organizations). The purpose of thesis are to determine the causes of conflict that personnel engaged in with each other and conflict management styles that are utilized by them during conflict period, whether causes of conflict and conflict management styles were differed according to demographic factors and whether the relationship between these causes of conflict and conflict management styles is available. The thesis is formed up in three chapters. The first part of the first chapter reflects the explanation of ?conflict in business? concept by many scientists and their different points of view in a conceptual framework was drawn up. The second part of the first chapter, in order to understand how it was recognized and admitted within the lapse of time, administrative approaches in relation to conflict in business was examined. The third, fourth, fifth and sixth parts of the first chapter, the stages, types, causes, positive and negative consequences of conflicts were also detailed. The second chapter of the thesis; analysis of conflict, reducing and stimulating of conflict, conflict management styles and other methods and techniques in conflict management in business were mentioned. In third and the last chapter; a research which was made in pursuant to the purpose of thesis was mentioned. Research was made in hospitals that are important in health sector. The sampling of research composed of 505 personnel of 6 hospital in Izmir. The data and findings received from ?Conflict Causes Inventory?, ?Rahim Organizational Conflict Inventory-II (ROCI-II)? and ?The Dutch Test for Conflict Handling (DUTCH)? were mentioned.
