Outsourcing logistics activities of the companies: Review on industrial establishments

In increasingly competitive environment, the enterprises need to respond to their costumers quickly, flexibly, in time and economically in order to achieve success. For this reason, it will be more advantegous for businesses to manage their supply chain and logistics activities more effectively than their competitors. Many companies today provide logistics activities that are not among their core competencies through outsourcing services from specialized firms. Outsourcing in logistics causes differences on decreasing cost, increasing flexibility, effective use of fund for logistics functions of businesses enterprises. This study examines the supply chain and logistics management, and outsourcing. In this context, the outsourcing in business operating in Turkey has been researched accordingly to in what ratio, in which logistics functions, for what purposes. The study shows that outsourcing in logistics actions of businesses enterprises will increase, and logistics management will play an important role in the compating environment.
