Analysis of financing models on profitability in renewable energy investments of enterprises

The purpose of this research is to examine the financial viability of popular financing methods used in the renewable energy sector and to provide suggestions for improvement. The study investigates the effectiveness and efficiency of these financing models to determine their impact on the overall profitability of renewable energy projects. Furthermore, this research aims to identify potential barriers that may reduce the effectiveness of financing strategies and propose solutions to address these issues. Ultimately, the aim is to contribute to the sustainability of projects by providing stakeholders in the renewable energy sector with information and recommendations that can make financial decision processes more efficient. The comparative analysis method, which involves analysing written sources and observational reports, was used in the research. Quantitative and qualitative data were collected from renewable energy reports published in various countries, official theories and other written sources providing additional information on the subject. The current status of the financing models used in selected countries, their impact on the economy and the extent to which they lead to an increase in renewable energy resource utilisation capacities were analysed. The research findings show that the fixed feed-in tariff model, the auction method and the net metering model are the most favoured financing options to promote renewable energy. Based on the analysis of various financing models, it is suggested that Turkey should consider implementing green bonds, green credits, renewable energy portfolio standard or quota system financing models to support the expansion of renewable energy in the country.
