Özet (EN)

Overcrowding world population, increase in the patterns and intensity of consumption brought along by capitalism, development of the volume of trade and industry, and rapid and unplanned urbanization cause rapid consumption of natural resources and great problems threatening the environment and human health. Unconscious and unplanned rapid consumption of natural resources will eventually lead to the destruction of ecological system and pass famine and epidemics down to the next generations. Regarding this topic of environmental and waste management which is of such prime importance, a great majority of academic references in Turkey give place to literature reviews (such as Dissertation Studies, Article Publications, Notice Publications) in general. Specifically, it was aimed to conduct a survey study under the main topic of Environmental and Waste Management in Isparta Leather Speciality and Mixed Organized Industrial Zone and analyze the results. The study comprised of two sections. The first section particularly stressed the literature review related to environmental and waste management. In this respect, the academic literature review aimed to create a wide point of view without classifying the departments of sectors or universities. In the second section of the study, a study was conducted on environmental and waste management in 'Isparta Leather Speciality and Mixed Organized Industrial Zone'. In this section, the topic, purpose and significance, extent and limitations, method, target population and sample of the study were explained. In the study, the data were collected using the five point Likert scale via the face-to-face survey method. The data were analyzed via the IBM SPSS statistics program. Demographic characteristics of the study were explained in tables. Following the Cronbach's Alpha Reliability test of the study, the study hypotheses were analyzed using the Independent Samples t-Test and variance analysis (One-way ANOVA). Then the results obtained throughout the study were included in the application section. Focusing on environmental and waste management efforts conducted nationwide in Turkey, analyzing the current situation in this field, and particularly emphasizing leather and similar enterprises to provide a sectoral perspective is expected to make a significant contribution.
