This study aims to evaluate the Israeli-Palestinian conflict through the securitization theory, particularly the traditional approach of securitization theory as speech act with expended to focus on other determined securitization theory assumptions, which were reformulates by Balzacq, which includes speech act, contexts, practices, centrality of audiences, and intersubjectivity assumptions by focusing on specific examples of the validity of that assumptions. It analyses the influence of securitization theory on the Palestinians' rights to statehood and Israeli survival. This is a conflict at which both parties securitize each other and particular factors, such as Palestinian securitization of settlement construction and of specific Israeli laws that were opposed Palestinian interests. On the other side, Israeli securitizing of principle action of UN Resolutions 181, 242, and 194 on Palestinian state establishment, withdrawal, refugees return, and Israel's securitization of the Gaza Strip. The main research question of this thesis: How does the evaluation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict through securitization theory contribute to assessing the recognition of a right to statehood for Palestinians and Israeli survival? The gap in the literature, which this study tries to overcome, is being unrestricted with the original format of securitization theory that only emphasizes speech acts. This study aims to understand the Israeli-Palestinian conflict through securitization theory that include both a focus on speech acts of securitizing actor and a focus on adapted contexts and practices between securitizing actors and audiences. The importance of the study is understanding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in the light of the securitization process between the two parties influences Palestinian rights to statehood and Israeli survival. The understanding of the Israeli-Palestinian case through securitization theory will be expanded in the next chapters. The contribution of this thesis is to understand and evaluate the Israeli–Palestinian conflict through securitization theory. The study contributes to providing insights into the applicability of securitization theory and the securitization assumptions in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The chosen assumptions will be clarified in the theoretical framework section. Particularly, the study focuses on securitizing specific factors mentioned above as base stones to securitize each other as "us" and "them". The contribution of this thesis is to look at the Israeli-Palestinian conflict through the lens of securitization theory. To understand that securitization of each other has been an adapted practice. The thesis focuses on speech act, the centrality of audience, context, and practice assumptions validity in that conflict, constructing inevitable influences upon the conflict.
